How it works

Open the Live Companion screen, prop your phone next to your monitor or TV, and queue up. The screen stays awake and scans your linked profile. The moment your ranked match starts, it builds a scouting briefing from your opponent's own match history and announces it out loud. Every spoken line also appears in an on-screen transcript, so it works muted too.

1. Open Live Companion and prop the phone up. The screen stays awake on its own, so nothing sleeps mid-game.
2. Start your ranked game. The app watches your linked profile and notices the match the moment it goes live.
3. Listen to the opening brief. Opponent rating, their record against players at your rating, their record on this map, and where their game falls apart.
4. Keep playing. Timed reminders land on the match clock — no tabbing out, no reading.

What it announces

• The matchup — opponent name, rating, and the gap between you, plus your civ-vs-civ win rate at your rating bracket.
• Their record against players like you — computed against opponents within ±30 rating of yours (widened to ±60 only when the tight sample is thin).
• Their record on this map and with this civilization — from their own recent ranked history.
• Their game-length profile — the "wins short games, loses long ones" read, so you know from minute one whether to close fast or drag it out.
• Form, streaks, and head-to-head — a player on a five-loss tilt plays differently; so does one you've beaten twice before.
• Timed reminders on the match clock — their typical Feudal click a minute before it lands (when we hold their parsed replays), and phase reminders at the 25 and 40 minute marks comparing how your civs scale.

How to use it to your advantage

Play the player, not just the matchup

Knowing your opponent wins 70% of their Arena games but only 38% of games past 40 minutes changes your plan before the scout leaves your Town Center: deny the thing they're good at, steer toward the phase where they collapse. That's exactly the intel the briefing leads with.

Let the clock coach you

Mid-game tunnel vision is where rating goes to die. A spoken "twenty-five minutes — check your upgrades and map control" lands precisely when players forget Blacksmith upgrades exist. The late-game call is comparative: if your civilization out-scales theirs, it will tell you to want the long game — and to look for the door if it's the other way around.

Honesty over noise

Audio has no footnotes, so the sample rules are strict: per-slice stats need at least five games, tempo call-outs need a real spread, and when the data's too thin the companion simply doesn't speak. If it says something, it's measured.

Also: track your rivals

Beyond your own games, follow any players — friends, rivals, pros — and get a notification the moment their ranked match begins, with the full lineup, ratings, and map. One tap opens the live match to scout it. Console and PC ladders both supported.
